This is something that can not be easily discussed and opinionated about.
Nobody really fully understands exactly what the poker laws are and a lot of it is still up in the air.
As of now, there are some poker rooms that allow U.S. players, while others do not.
The biggest question that is asked, is why some online poker rooms do not allow U.S. players if there is nothing illegal about it?
At this time there has never been anyone that has gotten into any trouble at all for playing online poker.
There is nothing that is going to punish or convict anyone for playing poker online in the U.S. at this time.
It seems that what the government is doing instead is trying to stop online poker in the U.S. by doing other things, such as making it illegal to run a poker room and making it illegal for a financial institution or a bank to transfer money to any gambling site online.
The bill was passed in September of 2006.
Is Online Poker Legal in the U.S?
You can look anywhere and everywhere and you will never be able to find the true answer to this question.
There are not many people that write about this type of thing that are qualified to state whether or not it is (including us).
However, based on the facts that are known, there is nothing indicating that you could get into any trouble for playing poker online or that there is any law saying you cannot play online poker.
What is highly illegal is if you tried to run your own online poker room from the U.S. That is something that is not allowed and would get you into a lot of trouble. Simply playing in a poker room is not going to do any harm as of right now.
There are a lot of different things that go into the poker law that everyone is worried about.
First of all it is not actually poker that was the big deal in the U.S. It was actually gambling. Now of course, most would consider poker to be gambling, but there are many people that would argue that.
Since poker can be a very skillful game there have been some very good arguments against poker being classified as gambling. For this reason, it is very possible that even when the laws are more set in stone—poker may not have anything to do with it (at least for the players).
How could this affect you?
If you are located in the U.S. then there is a good chance you are probably concerned with the Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act. As of right now like mentioned above, there is nobody that is getting into trouble for playing poker online.
That is not saying that it may not happen someday but at least for now there is nothing that proves you could get in any kind of trouble at all.
For now, there are some poker rooms that do not allow for U.S. players which would obviously affect you. Still, there are plenty of poker rooms that do.
There are several reasons why some poker rooms choose not to allow U.S. players. Fortunately, some of the biggest online poker rooms in the world are available for U.S. players.
The best thing to do is keep a look out for new laws. If at anytime online poker actually becomes illegal for players to play—you will know it.
For now, it is nothing more than the United States government trying to get more control of money that is going in and out of the country.
